Motorola Razr 2026 series deemed overpriced by readers

GSMArena's latest poll delivers a clear verdict: Motorola's new Razr 70/2026 flip foldable series is overpriced. The three models—the vanilla Razr 70, Razr 70+, and Razr 70 Ultra—each have their fans, but most respondents said they'd need a price cut or deal before buying. The Ultra model garnered the most interest at 15%, though even that faces significant headwinds.

The $1,500 Razr 70 Ultra uses older Snapdragon 8 Elite hardware and suffers from Motorola's limited support policy. The company promises "up to 3" OS updates and "up to 5 years" of security patches in some regions, while the US division makes no commitments at all. Compared to similarly priced flagships from Samsung and Apple, the Ultra will become obsolete far sooner. The Razr 70+ at $1,100 with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 faces the same value problem.

The pricing becomes even harder to justify when you consider Motorola is undercutting its own products. The 2025 Razr Ultra with 1TB storage sells for just $800 in the US—matching the vanilla 2026 model's price while offering far more. In Europe, the Razr 60 Ultra has dropped to €650. Readers clearly think Moto phones have a limited shelf life due to below-average software support, making these new flip phones a tough sell at current prices.
