Motorola has resurrected its budget Moto G Play for 2026, arriving alongside the standard Moto G. Both models share core specifications, including their display, chipset, and battery capacity. This release follows a skipped generation in 2025, signaling the brand's renewed focus on its entry-level lineup for the year.

The key differences lie in storage and charging speeds. The Moto G Play offers 64GB of storage and 18W charging, while the standard Moto G provides 128GB and faster 30W charging. The camera setup is also scaled back, with a 32MP main sensor versus the G's 50MP, and a more basic 8MP selfie camera.

The device arrives in a single Pantone Tapestry blue color with a cyan-accented UI. It features a classic leather-like back panel, though its plastic frame keeps costs down. As with Motorola's other 2026 G-series phones, only a USB cable is included in the box, a trend toward minimalist packaging.
