iPhone 18 Pro gets slimmer Dynamic Island design

A tipster on X says they’ve obtained fresh CAD files for Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The drawings reveal a noticeably slimmer punch‑hole at the top of the display, shrinking the Dynamic Island that has been a fixture since the iPhone 14 Pro. If genuine, the files likely came from a case manufacturer who received the data directly from Apple.

The new cutout appears taller but markedly narrower, suggesting Apple has relocated at least some Touch ID sensors beneath the glass. Removing the sensors from the visible island frees space, allowing the redesign without altering the rear chassis, which rumors say will stay virtually identical to the current Pro models. A slimmer island could become the most visible design tweak this cycle.

With the front panel likely the only aesthetic change, consumers may judge the iPhone 18 Pro line on performance upgrades rather than form. A tighter island could improve perceived screen real‑estate and make Face ID and camera alignment more seamless. Ultimately, Apple appears to fine‑tune its flagship look rather than launch a radical redesign.
