Samsung has confirmed that its newly unveiled Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra2 will receive five major OS upgrades and five years of security updates. This marks an increase from the four major OS and four years of security updates previously offered for older Galaxy Watch models.

Both devices are set to launch on August 7, running Wear OS 7 with Samsung's One UI 9 Watch. The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 features a 1.52-inch Super AMOLED display with 5,000-nit peak brightness, a titanium frame, and is certified for IP68, IP69K, and MIL-STD-810H, supporting dives up to 40m.

The Galaxy Watch9, available in 40mm and 44mm sizes, shares the same chipset and 2GB RAM as the Ultra2 but comes with 32GB of storage. Its displays offer up to 3,000-nit peak brightness, with battery capacities of 390 mAh and 445 mAh respectively. Both new models support 10W wireless charging.
