Xbox update finally adds per‑game Quick Resume toggle

Microsoft is pushing a fresh Xbox Series X|S update to members of its Xbox Insiders program that finally lets players turn off Quick Resume on a per‑title basis. By selecting “More Options” then “Manage Quick Resume” on a game tile, users can force a clean launch instead of resuming from suspension. The tweak answers a long‑standing community request.

Quick Resume debuted with the Series X|S, allowing multiple games to stay suspended while the console powers down, and restoring them in seconds even after months. Over time, players discovered that always‑online titles often balk at being resumed, throwing connection errors and demanding a full restart. The new per‑game toggle lets gamers keep the feature for single‑player experiences while disabling it for problematic online games.

The same update also expands dashboard customization: users can now pick any background hue instead of preset palettes, and the Home screen’s Groups limit jumps from two to ten, with drag‑and‑drop reordering. Insiders receive these changes now, with a broader rollout planned for all Xbox owners. Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb praised the addition, noting he first filed the request five years ago.
