A recent Windows 11 update is causing serious issues for some users, according to reports from Windows Latest. The KB5121003 patch, released on August 11, was a mandatory major security update addressing over 400 vulnerabilities. However, the update has introduced multiple bugs including game crashes, login errors, display issues, and system crashes.

The gaming community has been particularly affected, with users reporting unexpected crashes in titles like ARC Raiders and The Finals from Embark Games. The update appears to have compromised compatibility with a specific driver. Embark is working on a solution but hasn't provided a timeline, advising users to disable the problematic driver via Windows Command Prompt as a temporary fix.

Users can also remove the patch entirely through Update History settings, though this leaves systems vulnerable to the 400+ security flaws the update addressed. Microsoft has launched an investigation into the issues and is encouraging affected users to report problems through the Feedback Hub. No remediation plan has been announced yet.

The company has not specified when fixes might be available or whether a new patch will be issued to address the compatibility problems introduced by this month's security update.
