Ubisoft has announced another round of restructurings, shuttering its Winnipeg and Belgrade studios while cutting staff in Barcelona. The move follows earlier layoffs in January and February. The closure of the 65‑person Winnipeg team adds to the 380 jobs that could be lost across the company, according to The Game Business. This decision aligns with Ubisoft's ongoing cost‑cutting strategy now.

Meanwhile, Ubisoft’s San Francisco offices, which ceased operating as a full‑time development hub in 2024, continue to house IT and marketing teams. The company is also reshuffling its development pipeline for the hit multiplayer title Rainbow Six: Siege. Twelve percent of the Siege crew will be reassigned, making Ubisoft Barcelona the new lead developer for future releases and competitive performance.

Ubisoft’s ongoing shake‑ups reflect a broader effort to curb expenses after a stretch of weak sales and delayed releases. By consolidating studios and reallocating resources, the publisher aims to streamline production and protect flagship franchises. The company’s strategy will reshape how titles like Rainbow Six: Siege evolve, potentially tightening development timelines and altering support structures for long‑term sustainability and market.
