Uber and Zipline have partnered to bring drone deliveries to Uber Eats, targeting 1 million daily drone deliveries by end of 2029. The first deployments begin later this year in Zipline's existing US markets, including Pea Ridge, Ark. and the Dallas-Fort Worth metro, before expanding to dozens more cities.

Uber made a strategic investment in Zipline, though financial details were not disclosed. Zipline has already completed over 2.7 million deliveries ranging from healthcare products to food, and previously partnered with Walmart and Chipotle for food and retail deliveries.

This marks Uber's latest push into autonomous delivery, following a 2025 partnership with Flytrex for Uber Eats drone deliveries. The company has also teamed with Lucid and Momenta for robotaxi services. However, Uber and Zipline face direct competition from DoorDash and Wing, who launched their drone delivery partnership in 2022 and recently expanded to metro Atlanta.
