Slate Teams with Crayola for Colorful EV Wrapping

Slate has announced a partnership with Crayola that lets buyers wrap its barebones electric truck in five distinct colors. The options—Cerulean, Dandelion, Fern, Razzmatazz, and Jersey Tomato—appear on the Slate Marketplace and bring a playful twist to an otherwise monochrome fleet.

To secure a wrap, buyers must place a $300 deposit and then pay an additional $1,550 for the paint job. The deal also includes a key‑fob cap, a clip‑on dashboard Slatelet, and a set of decals, all bundled with the selected crayon shade. The process is streamlined: pre‑order, choose a color, and wait for delivery.

For consumers, the offer expands Slate’s customization menu and delivers a low‑cost alternative to paint‑shop jobs. The price point keeps the vehicle within the sub‑$20,000 bracket, appealing to budget‑conscious tech adopters.

Industry observers see the collaboration as a signal that EV makers are courting the same personalization culture that drives traditional automakers. If the model sells well, it could prompt other brands to adopt branded color palettes or limited‑edition collaborations.
