Shark has launched the ChillPill, a $150 modular cooling device that combines a fan, mister, and cold plate in one portable package. Available now, the gadget features a unique binocular-like design with two connected tubes that swivel 180 degrees for flexible positioning. The device includes a locking switch to prevent accidental activation and a USB-C charging port.

Each half of the ChillPill serves a different purpose - one houses controls and the screen showing battery level and mode, while the other holds interchangeable attachments called caps. Users can swap between the High-speed fan cap, Dry Touch Mist cap (which requires filling with potable water), and InstaChill Cooling Plate. The misting attachment surprised me with its effectiveness, producing a refreshing dry mist that evaporates quickly.

The cooling plate uses technology similar to Shark's CryoGlow face mask and DePuffi device, providing a super-cold surface for quick skin cooling. The fan attachment delivers impressive power, reaching cyclone-like intensity at level 10. While I found the $150 price tag steep, the ChillPill's versatility and sophisticated design make it a compelling option for personal cooling, especially in hot, humid climates like Singapore where I'm from.
