Dyson has unveiled its first handheld fan, the HushJet Mini Cool, featuring the company's proprietary HushJet air projection system. The device promises focused airflow up to 25m/s (55mph) from a brushless motor spinning at 65,000 RPM. Despite its compact size, the 7.5-ounce fan delivers legitimate cooling power with five speed settings and a boost mode.

This technology debuted on a Dyson air purifier that Engadget found to be exceptionally quiet. The Mini Cool charges via USB-C and includes a charging stand, though it can also stand independently on desks. A rechargeable battery provides up to six hours of use per charge. The fan's portability and quiet operation make it suitable for both travel and office use.

Priced at $100, the HushJet Mini Cool sits at a premium point for handheld fans but remains relatively affordable within Dyson's product lineup. The device launches in three colorways: gray available tomorrow, red in May, and blue in June. This marks Dyson's expansion beyond its traditional vacuum and air purifier categories into personal cooling devices.
