Samsung has officially established a new division named RX, or Robotics e Xperience, dedicated to all its robotics initiatives. This strategic move is spearheaded by Dongkun Lee, who joined Samsung as an Executive Vice President in May, bringing with him prior experience leading Hyundai's robotics strategy, including its work with Boston Dynamics. Samsung CEO TM Roh will personally oversee the new division.

While RX will be headquartered in Samsung's Seoul facilities, the company plans to establish robotics research hubs in the US, China, and Japan to leverage local expertise. This expansion into robotics signifies Samsung's commitment to physical AI development, a trend seen across the tech industry with companies like Alphabet and OpenAI also investing heavily in robotics.

According to reports, Samsung aims to begin manufacturing humanoid robots this year. CEO TM Roh previously announced a significant investment of 19 trillion Korean won (approximately $13 billion) to develop manufacturing facilities at its Gumi, Korea site specifically for the production of these humanoid robots.
