Samsung Galaxy Unpacked July 2025: Wider Z Fold 8, Flip 8, and Android XR Glasses

Samsung's next Galaxy Unpacked event appears set for July 22 in London, though the company hasn't confirmed the date. The summer showcase will center on foldables, with leaks pointing to a significant redesign for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 lineup. Samsung plans to introduce a wider model alongside a rebranded Ultra variant, marking the first major form-factor shift since the Fold's debut.

The wider Z Fold 8 would sport a 7.8-inch inner display and 5.4-inch outer screen, trading the current narrow profile for a shape that resembles a small tablet when opened. Meanwhile, the Z Fold 8 Ultra — essentially last year's design with upgrades — could pack a 200-megapixel camera, Snapdragon chip, and 45W charging. With the 2025 model already priced at $2,000 and memory costs climbing, a hike seems likely.

The Galaxy Z Flip 8 gets a new hinge reducing the crease and a weight drop to 180 grams, plus a return to Snapdragon silicon after last year's Exynos experiment. Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2 arrive with incremental changes: new colors, Snapdragon Wear Elite chips, and health features. Samsung may skip the rotating-bezel Classic model entirely this year.

Perhaps most intriguing, Samsung and Google could detail their Android XR smart glasses developed with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker. The audio-first frames feature Gemini voice assistance and cameras for contextual AI, positioning them as a direct answer to Meta's Ray-Ban specs. A display-equipped version won't arrive until 2027.
