The PlayStation Network (PSN) is currently experiencing a widespread outage impacting all of Sony's video game services. Users are reporting difficulties logging into their accounts, accessing the PlayStation Store for purchases, and playing online multiplayer games. The outage has even affected real-world events, causing a delay in the EA Sports FC 26 championship at the Esports World Cup.

According to the PlayStation Service Status page, "all services are experiencing issues." This includes account management, game streaming, the PlayStation Store, and PlayStation Direct. The problems extend to older consoles such as the PS Vita, PS4, and PS3. Sony has been contacted for comment regarding the outage and its resolution efforts.

This incident highlights potential vulnerabilities of digital-only game access, especially following Sony's recent announcement to retire physical game disc production by 2028. While digital games offer convenience, network outages can render them entirely inaccessible for purchase or play.
