The issue extended to gameplay, with users experiencing problems playing both digital and disc-based games. According to Xbox's status page, features requiring sign-in, such as most games, apps, and social activities, were unavailable. Users might also face challenges launching applications and browsing the game store.

Xbox acknowledged the outage in a post on X early Monday, stating that engineers were "actively working to mitigate the issue." The company's status page later indicated that the problem had been identified and a resolution was pending. This outage follows recent news of Xbox laying off 1,600 workers and planning further job cuts by June 2027.
