Oprah’s podcast moves to Amazon’s streaming platform

Amazon has signed a multiyear licensing deal with Oprah Winfrey, bringing her podcast onto the retailer’s streaming ecosystem. Starting in July, the show will drop two episodes a week and appear on Prime Video, Amazon Music, Fire TV channels and Audible, while still publishing on YouTube and traditional podcast apps and will retain celebrity and author guests that define series.

Beyond the weekly show, Winfrey will produce specials tied to her Oprah’s Favorite Things and Oprah’s Book Club brands, giving Amazon video content. The deal also grants Amazon rights to all 25 seasons of The Oprah Winfrey Show, though both parties have yet to decide how to repackage the footage for streaming audiences in a way that maximizes subscriber engagement.

Amazon’s Creator Services division, formed after splitting Wondery, will shepherd the Oprah titles alongside existing celebrity podcasts like New Heights and Armchair Expert. By linking the Book Club to Audible, Kindle and the Amazon storefront, the partnership creates a cross‑selling engine that blurs the line between content and commerce, giving fans a single hub for media and merchandise in practice.
