Netflix has partnered with Sign Up Media to offer American Sign Language (ASL) interpretations for 73 different titles in its kids' programming. This initiative includes hundreds of hours of content, spanning both original Netflix productions and licensed movies and shows. Among the featured titles are popular series like Stranger Things: Tales From '85 and Pokémon Horizons, as well as acclaimed films such as Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio and Spider-Man: Homecoming.

This novel approach utilizes a Google Chrome extension developed by Sign Up Media, which presents the ASL interpreter in a separate window. This contrasts with typical streamer practices where ASL versions are integrated directly into the app for specific titles. Research suggests that captions, while beneficial for adults, are not as effective for children, with studies indicating potential literacy disadvantages for hearing-impaired children who rely solely on captions.

Sign Up Media previously gained recognition for providing ASL interpretations for all best picture nominees at the 2026 Academy Awards through their Oscars Project.
