Apple continues expanding iPhone customization with iOS 26, offering users unprecedented control over their home screen appearance. Building on features from iOS 18, the update introduces resizable icons, removable app labels, and system-wide color tints using Apple's new Liquid Glass design language. Accessible through the Customize menu, these tools allow for dramatic visual changes without third-party shortcuts.

The customization panel provides four icon appearance styles: Default, Dark, Clear, and Tinted. Users can toggle between standard and Large App Icons mode, which removes labels and expands icons for a cleaner look. The Tinted option lets users apply a single color scheme across all supported apps and widgets, with an eyedropper tool to select colors directly from their wallpaper for a personalized touch.

Despite these improvements, iOS 26 maintains structural limitations. Users cannot place icons outside the grid, select different colors per app, or use custom icon packs without workarounds. The changes apply globally across all home screen pages, preventing per-page customization. Despite these constraints, iOS 26 offers enough flexibility to create a more personalized and visually distinct iPhone experience than previous versions.
