Apple is rolling out iOS 26.4 with three significant new ways to customize your iPhone experience. The update targets users who find the new Liquid Glass design too flashy, offering a 'Reduce Bright Effects' toggle that minimizes highlighting and flashing when interacting with onscreen elements like buttons and keyboards.

For battery management, iOS 26.4 introduces automation capabilities to the existing Charge Limit feature. Users can now set different maximum charge levels through the Shortcuts app, allowing iPhones to automatically adjust charging limits based on location, network connection, or other conditions. This builds on the existing 80-100% charge range that helps extend battery lifespan.

The update also brings enhanced subtitle customization to the default video player. Users can now choose from preset styles including Classic, Large Text, Outline Text, and Transparent Background, or create custom subtitle appearances through the Accessibility menu. These changes give iPhone users more control over their device's visual experience, from interface animations to media consumption.
