Insta360 Mic Pro packs badge‑size design with pro audio features

Insta360 has rolled out the Mic Pro, a wireless microphone that doubles as a badge‑sized gadget. Its circular face is dominated by an e‑ink screen that can display custom images, logos or pre‑set graphics, cycling while charging to prevent burn‑in. The device’s vivid, low‑fi aesthetic masks a serious audio upgrade over the previous Mic Air. It clips onto Insta360 X5 and Go Ultra, outputting 48 kHz audio wirelessly.

Three built‑in mics feed an on‑board AI processor, offering omnidirectional, cardioid and figure‑8 patterns plus 32‑bit floating recording that avoids clipping. Users can choose from Auto Gain Control, Prevent Clipping for noisy settings, or Dynamic Mode for indoor use. Each unit stores up to 32GB of audio locally and can sync via USB‑C or 3.5 mm to non‑Insta360 gear, and supports stereo output for richer sound.

Battery life reaches ten hours of transmission and up to thirty hours when docked in the charging case, which connects via a dedicated USB‑C port rather than a separate dock. A single Mic Pro retails for $100, while a kit with two transmitters, a receiver and the case costs $330. Availability starts today on Insta360’s store and Amazon, making it a compelling budget option.
