Google claims it has addressed a persistent battery drain issue affecting some Pixel phones. The company stated that a July software update should resolve the problem for Pixel 9- and 10-series devices. Additionally, an update scheduled for September is intended to fix the issue on Pixel 8a and 9a models.

The battery drain problem reportedly surfaced after Google's April update, with users experiencing significantly reduced battery life, sometimes lasting only a few hours, and even in airplane mode. Google acknowledged the issue in April, investigating reports of the CPU running continuously in the background.

However, not all users are convinced the problem is solved. Some have reported on support forums that they are still experiencing the drain, even after the supposed fix was implemented and marked as closed by Google. Furthermore, users with older models, such as the Pixel 7 and 8 series, claim their devices are still affected, but no fix has been announced for them.
