Donkey Kong 64 Lands on Switch Online June 4

Nintendo confirmed that Rare's 1999 collectathon joins the Switch Online + Expansion Pack library on June 4. The N64 emulator, part of the service for five years, finally gets its most divisive 3D title, giving subscribers a chance to explore DK's sprawling worlds without buying a vintage console.

Fans have long clamored for the game, which predates last year's Donkey Kong Bananza and remains a touchstone of early 3D design. Unlike the beloved side‑scrollers, Donkey Kong 64 packs dozens of items, multiple playable characters, and a notoriously loose camera, traits that still split opinion among modern players.

Its arrival follows the December addition of Rayman 2 and Tonic Trouble, expanding the roster of N64 classics available via the $50 per‑year Expansion Pack. While titles like Diddy Kong Racing stay missing, the new entry pushes Nintendo's retro catalog toward completeness, offering long‑time fans a nostalgic fix and newcomers a glimpse of the era’s experimental platforming.
