Bethesda Ends Elder Scrolls: Blades Run

Bethesda confirmed it will permanently shut down servers for its free-to-play mobile spinoff, The Elder Scrolls: Blades, on June 30. The dungeon-crawling title has already been delisted from all app stores, ending its six-year run on Android, iOS, and Nintendo Switch platforms.

Despite attracting over one million downloads during its early access phase, Blades never matched commercial success of Bethesda's mainline titles. The game received a "Generally Unfavorable" Metacritic score with critics citing repetitive gameplay and excessive microtransactions as key drawbacks.

Remaining players will receive free bundles of Gems and Sigils before the shutdown. Bethesda's decision follows a pattern of ending mobile spinoffs, including The Elder Scrolls: Legends which went offline in 2025. Fans seeking a mobile Bethesda experience can still turn to The Elder Scrolls: Castles.
