After nearly two years of delays and a $250 million settlement, Apple is preparing to reintroduce the new Siri at WWDC 2026 or possibly as early as September 2025. The redesigned iPhone interface puts the Gemini-powered AI assistant front and center, with Siri now living inside the Dynamic Island. Users can wake Siri with voice commands or by swiping down from the top center to access a "Search or Ask" interface.

Apple's new Siri interface displays results in rich text cards that pop out of the Dynamic Island, with an option to swipe down further for a chatbot-style conversation within the dedicated Siri app. The tech giant is considering allowing users to access other AI services like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini through this interface. Users will need to pull down from the top left to access the Notification Center, highlighting how Siri's prominence has changed the iPhone's interaction model.

The revamped Siri integrates deeper with Camera and Photos apps, offering new "Reframe" and "Extend" tools for AI-powered image manipulation. A new dedicated mode replaces Visual Intelligence, enabling photo reverse image search and third-party AI analysis. Underpinning these features is a smarter Siri that can search the web and use screen context and personal information to complete tasks, confirming Apple's plans to use Google's Gemini models to power the assistant.
