On foldable devices like the Pixel 10 Pro Fold and Samsung Galaxy Fold, Android 17 adds a dedicated bubble bar at the bottom of the screen for quick app switching. The foldable gaming mode optimizes the display with a 50/50 layout showing gameplay on top and a virtual gamepad below. External controller support includes native remapping options, while improved memory cleanup reduces lag during HD gaming sessions.

Security improvements include temporary location access permissions and selective contact sharing, addressing privacy concerns. The enhanced "Mark as lost" feature in Find Hub can remotely lock missing devices using biometrics, preventing unauthorized access even with the passcode. Live Threat Detection now blocks more suspicious apps, and PIN guess attempts face longer wait times between failures.

Pixel phones gain conversational editing in Google Photos for quick voice-based photo adjustments, available on Pixel 10 Pro models in select European markets. Voice translation arrives on Pixel 10a, while older Pixel devices gain AirDrop compatibility through Android Quick Share. The Pixel Watch integrates Emergency Sharing with crash, fall, and pulse detection features.
