Amazon's Alexa+ gets 3 new personality modes

Amazon has introduced three new personality styles for Alexa+ users to customize how the AI assistant communicates. The Brief, Chill, and Sweet modes let users choose between concise responses, laid-back surfer-inspired tones, or aggressively upbeat chatter. Users can switch between personalities using the Alexa app or by saying "Alexa, change your personality style."

Each personality is built on five metrics: expressiveness, emotional openness, formality, directness, and humor. The Brief mode eliminates small talk entirely, while Chill adopts a relaxed, Zen-like approach with responses like "Life's treating me well – all systems are Zen." The Sweet mode goes in the opposite direction with overly enthusiastic replies such as "Absolutely fantastic! I'm radiating pure joy!"

The company may add more personality options in the future based on different combinations of these traits. All three personalities are available immediately to all Alexa+ customers, who can also revert to the classic Alexa voice at any time. This customization feature represents Amazon's latest effort to make its AI assistant feel more personalized and engaging for users.
