NVIDIA's GeForce Now cloud gaming service is now available as a native app on select Amazon Fire TV sticks. Previously, users had to sideload an Android app to access GeForce Now on Fire TV, but the new dedicated application eliminates that workaround. The app launched today for compatible Fire TV devices.

Initially, the GeForce Now app works with the second-generation Fire TV Stick 4K Plus and second-generation Fire TV Stick 4K Max running Fire OS 8.1.6.0 or later. It also supports the original Fire TV Stick 4K Max if updated to Fire OS 7.7.1.1 or later. The streaming service delivers up to 1080p resolution at 60 fps with SDR visuals, H.264 video encoding, and stereo audio.

While GeForce Now supports up to 5K resolution and 360 fps with HDR10 and 7.1 audio on other platforms, Fire TV users get a more modest experience. However, it remains a solid option for existing Fire TV owners who want cloud gaming without additional hardware. A compatible controller is required. NVIDIA announced the Fire TV app during CES 2025, joining other cloud gaming services like Xbox Cloud Gaming and Amazon Luna already available on the platform.
