Amazon Fire TV App Gets Major Redesign for Android

Amazon has launched a redesigned Fire TV mobile app for Android and iOS that mirrors the updated Fire TV interface on televisions. The new app features five tabs at the bottom for Remote, Home, Search, Watchlist, and Account, transforming it from a basic remote control into a full content discovery platform.

The update allows users to browse content, manage watchlists, and start playback directly from their phones. This brings Fire TV's mobile experience closer to what Google TV has offered for years, with the ability to add titles to watchlists on the phone and access them later on the big screen. The visual refresh matches the new Fire TV interface on televisions.

Amazon says the goal is to make the app a second screen for discovering content. The redesigned Fire TV interface on TVs is currently limited to the U.S. and select devices, but the new mobile app update is rolling out more widely across regions including the US, India, UK, Canada, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and Mexico.
