Amazon is expanding its same-day prescription delivery service to 4,500 new cities and towns by the end of 2026. The company originally launched Amazon Pharmacy in 2020 with two-day delivery, and has steadily increased both availability and speed. By 2024, the service reached nearly half of all US residents.

While the full list of new cities wasn't disclosed, Amazon confirmed the service is coming to Idaho and Massachusetts for the first time. Same-day delivery availability has historically depended on Amazon's fulfillment center locations that can house pharmacies. Beyond same-day service, Amazon Pharmacy offers next-day delivery and prescription pickup at OneMedical offices in select cities.

Amazon has also expanded its healthcare offerings with RxPass, a $5 monthly subscription for Prime members that provides access to over 50 common medications. The company began allowing Medicare recipients to use RxPass in 2024. Despite trademark applications in the UK, Canada, and Australia in 2020, Amazon has yet to launch its prescription delivery service outside the US.
