2026 EVs with the Lowest Driving Range

While many electric vehicles now exceed 300 miles per charge, several 2026 models still fall below 250 miles. For most US drivers, who average over 37 miles daily, these vehicles cover a week of commuting, but they remain impractical for long road trips. Range varies based on temperature and driving behavior, though EPA estimates provide a standardized baseline.

Among the lowest-range options is the Fiat 500e, a city car with just 149 miles. Other limited-range models include the Hyundai Kona Electric SE at 200 miles, the Mini Countryman SE ALL4 at 216 miles, and the Lexus RZ 550e F Sport AWD at 229 miles. The Toyota bZ offers 235 miles, while the Kia EV6 reaches 237 miles.

Low-range EVs make sense for urban dwellers who prioritize lower price tags and shorter distances. As national charging infrastructure expands, these models become more attainable. However, those who frequently travel long distances should avoid these options due to the potential for range anxiety, especially since cold weather can cut range by 20-40 percent.
