Silo Season 3 Dual Timeline Reveals Underground Origins

Apple TV's dystopian drama "Silo" returns July 3 for its third season, introducing a dual-timeline narrative for the first time. The present-day story follows Juliette Nichols (star and executive producer Rebecca Ferguson) as she recovers from her forced "cleaning" while the silo reels from the aftermath of rebellion. Episodes will drop weekly through September 4.

The new season also explores how society came to live underground, flashing back to a journalist and congressman who uncovered a catastrophic conspiracy with irreversible consequences. Based on Hugh Howey's bestselling "Wool" trilogy, the series was created by Emmy winner Graham Yost and has earned two Bafta Television Awards for production design and original music.

Apple renewed "Silo" for seasons 3 and 4 in late 2024, but confirmed the show will end after its fourth installment—a rare move for the streaming service, which typically avoids announcing series conclusions. The first two seasons established the story of 10,000 people living in a massive underground silo, with Juliette emerging as a central figure after discovering dangerous truths about their sealed world.
