Sabih Khan has served as Apple's chief operating officer since 2019, though his career at the company spans three decades. While less publicly visible than executives like Tim Cook or Craig Federighi, Khan has been instrumental in building Apple's massive global supply chain and overseeing operations for products ranging from the original iMac to the iPhone.

Born in India in 1966, Khan moved to Singapore at age ten before studying economics and mechanical engineering in the United States. He joined Apple in 1995 after working at GE Plastics, starting in procurement and gradually rising through the ranks. Under his leadership, Apple expanded its supplier network, conducted hundreds of annual audits for supplier responsibility, and developed initiatives for environmental sustainability, including creating recycled aluminum alloys for MacBooks.

Khan's promotion to COO came as Jeff Williams transitioned to focus on Apple Watch and special projects. During his first year in the role, Khan faced the unprecedented challenge of managing Apple's operations during the COVID-19 pandemic, implementing health screenings and safety protocols across the global supply chain. His deep operational expertise and three decades of institutional knowledge position him as a potential successor to Cook when the CEO eventually steps down.
