M5 Pro MacBook Pro 16-inch 48GB RAM Drops to $3,049

Amazon has cut $550 off the 16-inch MacBook Pro equipped with Apple's M5 Pro chip, 48GB of unified memory, and a 1TB SSD. The configuration — featuring an 18-core CPU and 20-core GPU — now sells for $3,049.99, down from its $3,599 list price, marking the lowest recorded price for this spec since the model launched in March 2026.

The M5 Pro silicon delivers higher unified memory bandwidth than its M4 predecessor and integrates Apple's N1 wireless controller, adding Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 support. That bandwidth increase matters for workloads that shuttle large datasets between CPU and GPU cores — video grading, 3D rendering, and local LLM inference all benefit from the wider pipe.

The sale extends across the M5 lineup. The base M5 Pro with 24GB RAM drops to $2,649.99, while the M5 Max with 36GB RAM and 2TB storage hits $3,849.99. Fourteen-inch models see smaller discounts: the M5 Pro 24GB/1TB configuration falls $150 to $2,349, and the M5 Max 36GB/2TB unit slips $200 to $3,899.

For buyers who held off at launch pricing, this is the first meaningful discount on the 48GB tier — a sweet spot for memory-hungry pro apps that don't need the Max die's extra GPU cores. The Wi-Fi 7 inclusion also future-proofs the machine for high-throughput local networking, a quiet but practical upgrade for studio environments.
