Apple continues testing 26‑generation OS updates, with the fifth developer betas of iOS 26.6 and macOS 26.6 now available; they might be the final cycle releases.

While Apple experiments with the 27-generation before the fall launch, it still works on the current‑gen lineup. The beta rollout began with the first round on May 26, followed by the second on June 15, the third on June 29, the fourth on July 6, and the fifth on July 13.

Builds include iOS 26.6 build 5 (23G5065a) replacing 23G5057ci, and similar updates for iPad, watch, vision, tvOS, macOS, and HomePod. The new iOS beta adds a Contacts feature that notifies users when they reach 20,000 blocked listings, and it contains a security fix for Apple Maps.

Apple Insider advises users not to install betas on primary or mission‑critical devices; use backups and spare hardware, or wait for the more stable public beta releases.
