Apple and Ford have announced a new partnership that will embed Apple Maps at the core of Ford's upcoming Universal Electric Vehicle (UEV) platform, launching in 2027. This collaboration goes beyond standard navigation, integrating Apple Maps technology into Ford's next-generation BlueCruise hands-free driving feature.

Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president of Services and Health, expressed excitement about bringing Maps' powerful navigation to Ford's UEV platform, noting that the new MapKit for Automotive SDK will provide drivers with an "incredibly accurate and easy-to-use navigation system seamlessly integrated into Ford vehicles," while adhering to Apple's privacy standards.

Jim Farley, Ford's CEO, highlighted the integration as a key aspect of their new midsize EV, emphasizing that it will offer customers an "ultimate navigation experience" alongside other advanced features. The system will support turn-by-turn navigation, real-time traffic data, and EV-specific routing, including battery preconditioning and an enhanced BlueCruise functionality for highway driving.
