Apple is preparing to launch a colorful budget-friendly MacBook alongside the iPhone 17e as early as March, according to Bloomberg's Power On newsletter. The new MacBook will feature a 13-inch display powered by an "iPhone-class chip" and come in multiple colors including yellow, green, blue, pink, silver, and gray, though not all colors will be available at launch.

Pricing for the MacBook is expected to be around $649, positioning it to compete with Chromebooks and inexpensive Windows laptops while remaining above the $300 entry-level education market. The iPhone 17e will feature the A19 chip, MagSafe, and an updated C-series modem while maintaining the $599 price point. Both devices are designed to broaden Apple's reach in the budget-friendly market segment.

The iPhone 17e could launch via press release before the end of February or through a March event, which would also be an opportunity to showcase iOS 26.4 and an iPad with the A19 chip. These Apple Intelligence-ready products represent Apple's strategy to expand its product lineup while maintaining premium features at more accessible price points.
