Apple's Dynamic Island feature isn't going anywhere soon, despite ongoing efforts to create a true all-screen iPhone. According to leaker Fixed Focus Digital, Apple is still struggling to make its visible sensors work under the display, forcing the company to keep the notch-like feature for the foreseeable future.

While under-display technology could eventually eliminate the Dynamic Island and even bring back Touch ID, these innovations remain years away. Apple has been working on under-display infrared technology for Face ID, with potential implementation as late as the iPhone 18 Pro. For now, the company is focused on making the Dynamic Island smaller rather than eliminating it entirely.

The challenge of hiding TrueDepth camera arrays represents a fundamental obstacle in smartphone design. Apple continues to push toward its vision of an all-screen device, but technical limitations mean consumers will have to wait longer for that futuristic iPhone.
