Apple brings its fourth developer betas for iOS 26.5, iPadOS 26.5, watchOS 26.5, tvOS 26.5, visionOS 26.5, and macOS Tahoe 26.5, continuing the rollout that began March 30. The new builds replace previous versions with fresh build numbers and extended testing cycles. Developers receive the updates via the Apple Developer portal, where they can examine changes before public release.

iOS 26.5 build 4 (23F5069b) drops notification forwarding for EU users and keeps testing end‑to‑end encrypted RCS messaging. The update also unexpectedly activates Apple Intelligence in China, sidestepping prior delays. Meanwhile, earlier builds hinted at ads for Apple Maps, but no Siri enhancements appeared, leaving developers to prepare for future feature layers.

macOS Tahoe 26.5 build 4 (25F5068a) replaces 25F5058e, while macOS 15.7.7 RC 2 (24G718) and macOS 14.8.7 RC 2 (23J518) receive release‑candidate updates for legacy systems. Apple warns that installing these betas on primary devices risks data loss, recommending backups and secondary hardware. Public betas follow later, offering more stable iterations for general users.

Developers now test the latest builds for cross‑platform consistency, ensuring features like notification forwarding and new AI services run smoothly across iOS, macOS, and visionOS. The staggered beta schedule lets Apple spot regressions early, tightening the release cycle before the public beta drops. Once the public betas land, users can expect a more polished 26.5 suite.
