Apple Intelligence Transforms Text into Task Reminders

Apple Intelligence now lets users transform highlighted text from emails, webpages, and notes into suggested reminders directly through the share sheet. Instead of manually copying details, selected text can automatically generate tasks as users scan through longer documents. The feature reduces friction between reading material and creating actionable items, making it easier to capture buried action items without switching contexts.

When text is shared to Reminders, Apple Intelligence analyzes it for patterns resembling tasks—looking for action verbs, deadlines, quantities, and step-by-step instructions. Structured content like recipes, project notes, and emails with lists convert most reliably. The system presents suggested tasks for review before adding them to lists, with longer selections often generating multiple reminders at once.

Apple Intelligence requires Apple Silicon hardware, limiting availability to newer devices. The feature works across 18 supported languages and automatically activates when enabled in settings. People who regularly extract tasks from scattered text will notice the biggest time savings, though casual or conversational writing produces weaker results. The automation excels when a single source contains multiple action items that would otherwise need manual entry.
