iOS 27 revamps Reminders with AI creation and smarter lists

Apple's upcoming iOS 27 reshapes the Reminders app with AI‑driven creation tools. Users can now type a natural‑language description and let Apple Intelligence extract dates, locations, tags and urgency automatically. The legacy shortcut row that suggested dates remains, but the new “describe” flow promises faster entry. Both methods appear in the beta, though overlap may lead to one being retired. Early testers report smoother workflow and fewer missed deadlines.

iOS 27 also revamps the task metadata panel. Instead of five separate buttons above the keyboard, a surrounding box now houses Date, Time, Urgent, Repeat, Location, Tag, Flag and Camera controls. Tapping the ‘i’ icon still reveals the full set, but the new layout reduces taps, making quick edits feel more fluid. The design also aligns with iPadOS multitasking conventions.

The grocery‑list feature gains smarter auto‑sorting, now handling multiple languages and delivering more accurate placement thanks to the same foundation models powering the AI reminder flow. For power users, the upgrade tightens integration across Apple’s ecosystem, turning a simple list into a multilingual, context‑aware assistant. It also simplifies sharing lists via Messages. iOS 27 therefore raises the utility bar for everyday task management.
