Apple Home Automation Push Extends Through 2028 With Siri AI Updates

Apple's home automation strategy powered by Siri AI will begin rolling out in 2026, starting with updates to HomePod mini and Apple TV hardware. The company's broader smart home ambitions include a dedicated Home Hub device launching alongside these products, though consumers should expect staggered release timing throughout the year.

According to Bloomberg's Power On newsletter, the refreshed HomePod mini and updated Apple TV could arrive at any point in 2026. These devices will integrate Apple's AI capabilities, with the Apple TV supporting Apple Intelligence and potentially featuring a redesigned Siri Remote. The HomePod mini's upgrade appears limited primarily to Siri AI integration.

The more ambitious robotic arm accessory for Home Hub faces longer delays, pushing its release to 2027 or 2028. This Pixar Lamp-inspired device remains in early testing phases and represents Apple's moonshot entry into the smart home market. With three new iPhones, updated Apple Watches, and refreshed Macs also expected this year, Apple will need to carefully schedule announcements.

The packed product pipeline suggests Apple may dedicate October's keynote to home automation, given that September's event will already host major iPhone and watch reveals. Consumers can expect a standalone Home Hub display with modular mounting options, but the full vision won't materialize until well into the latter half of this decade.
