This week's Apple Crime Blotter covers several notable incidents involving Apple products and services. A second suspect, Robert Rashawn Soto, remains at large after authorities arrested one man in connection with a $2 million iPhone heist at a FedEx facility in March. The thieves stole 38 boxes of iPhone 17 Pro Max devices, posing as Union Logistics employees before loading the items into a U-Haul that authorities tracked using AirTags.

In a separate incident, musician G. Love lost approximately $424,000 in Bitcoin after downloading a fraudulent Ledger app from the App Store. The fake crypto application, which emerged in mid-April, took $9.5 million in total from victims. G. Love said he lost 5.92 BTC after accidentally downloading the malicious app when switching to a new computer.

AirTags proved useful for victims and law enforcement alike. San Mateo, California police used an AirTag signal to recover a stolen car, then tracked a MacBook inside the suspects' vehicle to locate additional stolen items. Rapper Pooh Shiesty was among ten people arrested in connection with an alleged robbery where victims used AirTags to locate stolen Louis Vuitton bags, AirPods, and wallets. Other incidents include iPads stolen from a Best Buy in West Hollywood and a $500 iPad taken from a Dollar Tree in Odessa, Texas.
