Xreal has launched X by Xreal (XBX), a new sub-brand targeting entry-level AR glasses with its first product, the a01. These glasses aim to bring AR technology to gamers and movie lovers through a "pocket cinema" experience with a bright display and lightweight design. The company created XBX to make AR more accessible to a broader audience.

The a01 features a 1,600nit HDR10 display with 14 brightness levels, dual-layer MicroOLED screens, and an anti-shake algorithm to prevent blurry content. The glasses weigh approximately 62g and include interchangeable front frames, with 3D printable accessories for customization. Users can also convert SDR content to HDR for enhanced viewing quality.

XBX launched the a01 in China first, with US availability set for July at $299. The company positions these glasses as accessible AR entry points, borrowing technology from Xreal's flagship products while removing cameras to keep costs down and weight minimal. CEO Chi Xu emphasized the goal of bringing "core magic of XREAL's flagship experiences to a broader audience."
