WhatsApp is rolling out four new tools to simplify group chat management. A new “Mentions and replies” filter in the swipe‑down drawer shows unread group conversations where the user was mentioned or directly replied to, including @all messages. Users can now pin messages indefinitely in groups, rather than being limited to 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days.
A retroactive message‑send feature lets admins forward recent messages to new members by tapping their name, extending the prior add‑to‑group option. Additionally, group status sharing is introduced, allowing members to post 24‑hour updates visible only to the group, with reactions and additions permitted. As with many WhatsApp updates, availability may vary by region and device.
