Samsung's Inactivity Restart Safety Net Expands to More Galaxy Phones

Samsung is expanding its Inactive Restart security feature to additional Galaxy phones, including models beyond the S25 and S26 series. This update, reportedly arriving in the February 2026 security patch, automatically restarts devices left idle for 72 hours. Users can toggle the feature on or off in the 'More Security' section of the 'Security & Privacy' settings.

After restarting, the phone requires unlocking to receive notifications, see caller names, or unlock the SIM for calls. This adds a layer of protection against unauthorized access to unattended devices. Samsung is also highlighting the Privacy Display on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, a feature demonstrated at MWC 2026 that blocks side-view access to the screen, enhancing privacy in public spaces.

While the Inactivity Restart is a niche security measure, it complements Samsung's broader focus on device protection and user privacy.
