Samsung is reportedly developing a second-generation Galaxy Z Tri Fold for a 2027 launch, according to Korean publication ET News. Unlike the first-generation model released as a limited technology showcase, the new device aims for mainstream availability with scaled manufacturing. The next Tri Fold will likely retain the same display size, indicating Samsung's focus on production volume over hardware redesign.

The company may introduce four premium foldables in the second half of 2027: the Galaxy Z Flip 9, Galaxy Z Fold 9 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 9, and the new Tri Fold. This expanded lineup would counter rumors that the clamshell Flip series is ending. Simultaneously, Samsung is said to be expanding the Galaxy S family to four models — Galaxy S27, S27 Plus, S27 Pro, and S27 Ultra — creating a "4+4" flagship strategy with four S-series devices in the first half and four foldables in the second half of the year.

Samsung has not confirmed any of these plans, and details remain early. However, the shift toward broader Tri Fold distribution suggests the company is serious about moving the form factor beyond experimental status.
