Samsung's Galaxy A27 5G arrives July 14 for $349 in the U.S., and its redesigned display finally addresses longstanding A-series complaints. Unlike the A26's distracting Infinity-U notch and chunky bezels, this model sports a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel with a punch-hole selfie camera and significantly thinner borders. The screen upgrade addresses what Android Central calls the "sour note" of previous budget models.

Under the hood, Samsung swapped to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, promising smoother multitasking and gaming performance. The phone keeps its 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging while adding Galaxy AI features like Object Eraser, Circle to Search, and Gemini integration. Users can even swap Google's assistant for Perplexity if preferred.

Camera duties fall to a triple rear system: 50MP ultra-wide, 50MP OIS main shooter, and a 2MP macro lens. Samsung promises six years of Android updates and security patches, though water resistance drops to IP64 from the A26's IP67 rating.

At 7.8mm thick, the A27 5G feels more premium than its predecessor. This refresh shows Samsung listening to feedback about its budget lineup, though the IP64 downgrade and mid-range performance may disappoint some buyers.
