Oura is expanding its women's health capabilities with two new features arriving May 6. The company announced Hormonal Birth Control support, which will let users log their contraception method—pills, patches, IUDs—and see how it impacts their temperature patterns, sleep, and recovery. Menopause Insights is also launching to address what Oura calls one of the most overlooked phases in women's health.

Oura's chief product officer Holly Shelton acknowledged that hormonal health has been treated as an afterthought in both medicine and technology for decades. The birth control feature builds on Oura's existing Cycle Insights, which already tracked menstrual cycles. The company expanded that tool's prediction window from one month to twelve months last fall, giving users a longer view of their hormonal patterns.

The Menopause Insights feature will start with a comprehensive symptom assessment, then provide members with a personalized dashboard translating symptoms into an overall impact level. Users can track sudden changes, view lifestyle factors and stress, save the data, and share it with healthcare providers. This follows Oura's April partnership with Vida Health for cardiovascular health monitoring.
