Motorola's new Moto Tag 2 tracker arrives in North America with Bluetooth 6.0, Ultra Wideband support, and Google Find Hub integration. The device offers over 500 days of battery life from a user-replaceable CR2032 cell, finally bringing the company's tracker up to modern Android standards. While the Moto Buds 2 Plus receive attention for their Brilliant Collection styling, the Tag 2 delivers substantive upgrades that actually improve daily usability.

The tracker includes Find My Phone functionality, remote camera controls, location sharing, and unwanted tracking alerts with end-to-end encryption. Rated IP68 for dust and water resistance, it works with Android 9 and newer devices. These additions make the Tag 2 more versatile than typical trackers while addressing growing privacy concerns around Bluetooth tracking devices.

The Moto Buds 2 Plus get cosmetic enhancements through Swarovski crystal-encrusted designs in PANTONE Violet Indigo and Cool White finishes. However, the hardware remains unchanged, featuring Sound by Bose tuning, dual 11mm dynamic drivers, and Dynamic Active Noise Cancellation. Battery life stays at nine hours with the case providing 40 hours total.

The $200 Swarovski edition and $150 standard versions launch June 30 through Motorola's online stores. While crystal-encrusted earbuds generate buzz, the Moto Tag 2's practical improvements represent the more meaningful upgrade for users who actually need reliable item tracking in their daily lives.
