Meta AI has unveiled Muse Image, an AI model that builds upon its earlier Muse Spark technology. This new generator pulls from publicly available Instagram profiles, allowing users to @-mention individuals to incorporate them into AI-generated images. Meta states this feature is "rooted in your world" and emphasizes user control over how their content is used, noting it only accesses public photos.

Muse Image also brings AI image generation to WhatsApp chats and introduces 30 new effects for Instagram Stories. The model understands complex, conversational prompts and can generate high-quality images, infographics, and guides with legible text. It can also assist with tasks like redesigning rooms using products sourced from the web and Facebook Marketplace, and offers photo editing capabilities directly within Meta AI.

The company plans to roll out Muse Image to more countries and integrate it into Facebook and Messenger, following its initial debut on Instagram and WhatsApp. This move signifies Meta's continued investment in AI, aiming to create more personalized and interactive user experiences across its social platforms.
